The Doctor's traveling companion, investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith, has given up journeying through space and time and returned to her career on Earth.  Shortly before Christmas, she travels to a sleepy English village to visit her Aunt Lavinia and write her next book.  But Sarah discovers an evil that has cast a pall over the town, wrought by a bloodthirsty coven of pagan worshipers.  Soon she's plunged into an adventure that rivals any she had with the Doctor - and she needs his help to survive it!   Fortunately, an unexpected gift from the Doctor - a robotic dog named K-9 - comes to the rescue.

  • The one (and thank god the only) Doctor Who spinoff attempt.   "K9 and Company" makes for a horrendous viewing experience. 

  • This pilot episode failed to springboard into a series of its own.
