Before being screened in countries like Australia and New Zealand, Doctor Who would be screened by censors and objectionable material would be removed. In an ironic twist, the cut scenes are the only remaining footage from some of these stories. Here the bits of footage come from episodes 2 and 3 including several shots of the Macra terrorizing Ben and Polly. |

This time around the footage is presented with a 10 minute 'mini-commentary' by the story's effects designers, Peter Day and Michealjohn Harris. This featurette was also included on the Troughton release "The Seeds of Death." |

The scenes presented here come from a variety of sources. One source is from Australian censors, another is some studio footage of alternative takes during the climatic battle in episode 6, while other footage comes from a behind the scenes camera filming (in color) another sequence involving invading Sea Weed. The various clips come from episodes 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. The use of studio footage and the alternate takes matched up with the audio recordings of the actual episode create a very satisfying clip for episode 6 showing fans what the final climatic battle looked like. |
