DVD Features
  • Defending the Museum:
New series writer (and Doctor Who fan) Rob Shearman takes on the challenge of elevating and defending a story that is overlooked by much of fandom.  Genuinely heartfelt, and persuasive.

  • My Grandfather, the Doctor:
Jessica Carney discusses her grandfather, William Hartnell, and his career as an actor.

  • A Holiday for the Doctor:
A spoof of 1960's Doctor Who - in particular the practice of writing out regular actors for an episode so that he or she could take a week long break.

  • Photo Gallery:
Once again we are treated to many rare production stills and even a few behind the scenes ones as well.

  • Radio Times Listings:
Accessible from any computer with a DVD drive, a PDF of some of the original Radio Times press clippings.

  • Information Text:
Lots of trivia and tidbits of Whovian detail are provided.  The text appears intermittently along the bottom of the screen and is written by members of the Doctor Who Restoration Team

  • Audio Options:
Commentary is provided by William Russell (Ian), Maureen O'Brien (Vicki), and writer Glyn JonesPeter Purves (Steven) moderates.

Additional Notes
  • This story picks up immediately after the events of "The Crusade" and leads directly into "The Chase."

  • Look for a humorous moment in episode 2 where William Hartnell impersonates a Dalek.

  • "The Space Museum" was author Glyn Jones' only written contribution to the program.  However, he would appear on screen several years later in the Tom Baker story "The Sontaran Experiment" - playing Krans.

  • Actor Jeremy Bulloch makes his first of two appearances in this story as the rebel leader Tor.  He would appear again in the 1974 Pertwee story "The Time Warrior" where he played the archer Hal.  Truly sad fans will already know that it was Bulloch who played bounty hunter Boba Fett in the movies "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

  • "The Space Museum" was given the usual expert cleanup and VidFIRE treatment by the Doctor Who Restoration Team.  Specific details on the restoration can be found HERE.
